1. This sign is basically the Auslan sign ‘scribble’ made with two ‘d’ handshapes from the one-handed alphabet. It first appeared as a Signed English sign for use in education. Some teachers and students use it to distinguish ‘diagram’ from ‘scribble’ and ‘draw’ (also found in this dictionary). These two other signs can also be used for ‘diagram’ in the right context.
